Enterprising Senegal forward Assane Diao has emerged as a top transfer target for both Liverpool and Newcastle United ahead of the summer transfer window.
Assane has become an instant hit for Como in the Italian Serie A, scoring five goals in eight appearances since joining the club last summer.
The 19-year-old striker joined Como for a club-record fee of €12m (£10m, $12.5m) and has since established himself as a key member of the team.
According to reports, Liverpool and Newcastle United will battle for the services of the Senegalese as they seeks for replacement for Mohammed Salah and Miguel Amiron.
Liverpool are in the haunt of a new winger and could make a move for Assane Diao. The reds will sign a winger at all cost even if Mohammed Salah decides to stay.
Salah’s current contract with the Reds expires in June, sparking speculations about his future at the club. Despite his impressive performance, the former African Footballer of the Year has yet to sign a new contract.
Meanwhile, Newcastle United are set to rival Liverpool for the acquisition of Assane Diao, as they seeks for a replacement for Miguel Almiron.
