Partizan Belgrade returned to winning ways in the Serbian First Division with a 3-2 away victory over Radnik Surdulica, powered by a brace from Demba Seck.
The result ended a short winless run for Partizan and came at a crucial moment in the Mozzart Bet Superliga season, as they overcame newly promoted Radnik in the 22nd round of fixtures.
Playing away from home against a side sitting sixth in the table, Partizan were forced to battle hard before securing three points that lifted them back to the top of the standings.
The visitors had endured a difficult start to 2026. A narrow defeat in the derby against FK IMT Belgrade just before the winter break was followed by a goalless draw with Radnicki Nis last weekend, raising questions about momentum after the restart. Saturday’s performance, though far from straightforward, provided a timely response.
Central to that response was Demba Seck. The 24-year-old Senegalese winger rediscovered his scoring touch, netting twice after going several months without a goal.
His first strike came as a result of sharp movement and awareness, meeting a well-delivered cross that caught both the Radnik defence and goalkeeper off guard, restoring Partizan’s advantage at 2-1.
Radnik Surdulica, competing in their first top-flight season, continued to push and ensured the contest remained open.
However, Seck struck again with a moment of individual quality, driving forward before finishing to give Partizan a two-goal cushion. The effort underlined his influence on the match and proved decisive despite late pressure from the hosts.
Although Radnik managed to score twice and keep the outcome in doubt until the closing stages, Partizan held firm to claim a victory that could prove significant in the title race.
The result allows Nenad Stojakovic’s side to temporarily reclaim first place in the Serbian Championship.
Partizan now sit two points clear of their long-standing rivals Red Star Belgrade, reinforcing the importance of the win as the season enters a demanding phase.
For Seck, the goals marked a welcome return to form after last scoring in October, while for Partizan the performance offered reassurance after a stuttering start to the year.
