Nicolas Jackson and Daouda Diémé break into Senegal’s top scorers abroad
Nicolas Jackson and Daouda Diémé have forced their way into the top 10 ranking of Senegalese goalscorers playing abroad as the race among the country’s attacking stars intensifies towards the end of the season.
With only a few weeks remaining before the campaign concludes across several leagues, the latest goalscoring standings underline the depth of Senegal’s attacking talent around the world.
While Mbaye Diagne remains firmly in control at the top of the chart, changes lower down the rankings have added fresh intrigue to the battle among the country’s leading forwards.
Diagne, who plays for Turkish side Amedspor, continues to dominate the list after producing an outstanding return of 29 goals in 36 appearances across all competitions.
His performances have left him comfortably ahead of the chasing pack and placed him on course to finish the season as Senegal’s leading scorer abroad.
Behind him, however, competition remains intense as several Senegalese internationals and overseas-based players continue to add to their tallies before the season reaches its conclusion.
One of the biggest developments in the latest standings is the arrival of Daouda Diémé into the top 10.
The forward, who plays for Iraqi club Naft Missan, has quietly built an impressive campaign, reaching 12 goals in 36 appearances in all competitions.
His consistency throughout the season has now been rewarded with a place among Senegal’s most productive forwards abroad.
Although he may not yet enjoy the same international recognition as some of the bigger names on the list, his statistics underline the impact he has made during the campaign.
Another player drawing attention is Nicolas Jackson, who has also entered the top 10 following a strong finish to the season.
The Senegal striker, playing for Bayern Munich, has now scored 11 goals in 34 appearances across all competitions.
Jackson’s inclusion in the rankings reflects his growing importance at club level and continues a season in which he has increasingly established himself among Senegal’s leading attacking players.
His rise into the top 10 also highlights the depth of attacking options available to Senegalese football, with players producing strong performances across Europe, the Middle East and beyond.
Despite the new additions to the list, Ismaïla Sarr remains one of the standout performers of the season.
The Crystal Palace forward occupies second place after scoring 21 goals in 43 matches.
His campaign has once again demonstrated his consistency at a high level and his ability to deliver across multiple competitions.
Veteran forward Mame Biram Diouf is also enjoying an impressive season with Turkish side Keciörengücü.
His 17 goals in 30 matches have secured him third place in the rankings and reinforced his reputation as one of Senegal’s most reliable scorers abroad.
Bamba Dieng follows closely behind after scoring 15 goals in 25 appearances for FC Lorient.
His strong return has allowed him to remain among the country’s most effective forwards this season.
Fabrice Tamba has matched that total with 15 goals for Shkendija, although he reached the mark over 48 appearances across all competitions.
Sadio Mané, one of Senegal’s most recognisable football figures, continues to feature prominently in the standings.
The Al Nassr forward has registered 14 goals in 36 matches during the campaign.
Although no longer leading the chart, Mané’s presence among the country’s top scorers reflects the consistency he continues to show at club level.
Chérif Ndiaye and Philippe Keny are level on 13 goals each.
Ndiaye achieved the total in 37 appearances for Samsunspor, while Keny reached the same mark in 33 matches for FC Zürich.
Together with Diémé and Jackson, they complete a top 10 ranking that reflects the wide geographical spread of Senegalese football talent.
The current standings for Senegalese goalscorers abroad are:
- Mbaye Diagne (Amedspor) – 29 goals – 36 matches
- Ismaïla Sarr (Crystal Palace) – 21 goals – 43 matches
- Mame Biram Diouf (Keciörengücü) – 17 goals – 30 matches
- Bamba Dieng (FC Lorient) – 15 goals – 25 matches
- Fabrice Tamba (Shkendija) – 15 goals – 48 matches
- Sadio Mané (Al Nassr) – 14 goals – 36 matches
- Chérif Ndiaye (Samsunspor) – 13 goals – 37 matches
- Philippe Keny (FC Zürich) – 13 goals – 33 matches
- Daouda Diémé (Naft Missan) – 12 goals – 36 matches
- Nicolas Jackson (Bayern Munich) – 11 goals – 34 matches
As the season approaches its closing weeks, several players still have opportunities to improve their totals.
However, Mbaye Diagne’s commanding lead means the race for first place already appears settled.
The remaining battles within the top 10, though, continue to provide a fascinating reflection of Senegal’s attacking strength across world football.
