Senegal striker Nicolas Jackson takes swipe at Chelsea after scoring first Bayern Munich goal

Senegal international Nicolas Jackson marked his first goal for Bayern Munich with a pointed remark towards parent club Chelsea, following the Bavarians’ Champions League victory over Cypriot side Pafos.

The 24-year-old forward, who joined Bayern on loan during the final hours of the transfer window, delivered a confident display that underscored both his relief and determination to re-establish himself at the top level.

After the match, Jackson expressed delight at finding the net but did not shy away from reflecting on his struggles in England.

“It wasn’t easy, but we played a very good game and worked hard. I’m very happy to score my first goal for the club,” Jackson said.

“I’m still getting back to full fitness because I hadn’t played and trained alone for two months. I’m working hard every day.”

His comments referenced a difficult summer at Chelsea, where he was frozen out of preseason preparations by new manager Enzo Maresca.

Jackson admitted he feels more settled in Germany, noting: “I’m very happy here, everyone welcomed me very well. I feel home. We’ll see what the future brings.”

Jackson’s transfer nearly collapsed on Deadline Day after Chelsea hesitated due to an injury to new signing Liam Delap.

The London club eventually sanctioned the deal, recalling Marc Guiu from his loan at Sunderland to cover their forward options.

The Senegalese striker had already faced setbacks at Stamford Bridge, including suspensions carried over from last season and disciplinary issues at the FIFA Club World Cup. As a result, he never featured in the Premier League under Maresca before being sent out on loan.

Now in Munich, Jackson has the opportunity to silence critics and reshape his career trajectory.
