Senegal striker Bamba Dieng in red-hot form in France
Senegalese striker Bamba Dieng continued his impressive run of form for FC Lorient, delivering once again on matchday 28 as his side played out an intense encounter against Paris FC.
At the Stade du Moustoir on Sunday, 5 April, Dieng made his mark in the 54th minute, breaking the deadlock with a well-taken finish after being set up by Pablo Pagis. His goal looked set to guide Lorient to victory, but despite his contribution, the hosts were ultimately held to a draw in a tightly contested match.
While the result may have been disappointing for Lorient, Dieng’s individual performance stood out, further underlining his growing influence this season. The Senegal international has now reached eight league goals in just 16 appearances—his best scoring return since making his professional breakthrough in the 2020–21 campaign.
This latest strike also sees him surpass his previous personal best of seven league goals, which he achieved during the 2021–22 season while playing for Olympique de Marseille. The milestone highlights the forward’s steady progression and improved consistency in front of goal.
Dieng’s form has been a key positive for Lorient in what has been a demanding campaign, and his ability to deliver in crucial moments continues to boost the team’s attacking threat. With the season entering its decisive phase, the Senegalese striker will be eager to build on his impressive numbers and help his side push for stronger results in the remaining fixtures.
