Senegal star Sadio Mane slams Al-Nassr fans after defeat to Al-Fateh

Al-Nassr forward Sadio Mane has publicly criticised the club’s supporters following their 3-2 defeat to Al-Fateh in the Roshen League.

The loss leaves Al-Nassr stuck on 70 points in third place, while Al-Fateh climbed to 10th with 39 points.

Speaking in a post-match interview, the former Liverpool forward didn’t hold back in his assessment of the team’s struggles this season.

“It wasn’t good — we know that,” Mane admitted. “It has been a disastrous season on all levels, and we need to find solutions to improve moving forward.”

The Senegalese international acknowledged the disappointment surrounding the campaign, which saw Al-Nassr fall short both domestically and in continental competitions.

“It’s been a bad season for everyone — the team, the fans, and the club. We need to reflect on every aspect if we are to match the standards of top clubs,” he said.

However, Mane turned his criticism toward the fans, suggesting their inconsistent support has contributed to the team’s woes.

“First and foremost, the fans need to take a hard look at how they support this club,” he said. “We haven’t felt the support we truly need. The players can’t give everything if that energy from the stands isn’t there.”

He added: “If you want to be a big club, your fans must show up and support the team regularly. I’ve seen fans show up in some matches, but in others, they were simply absent.”

Mane’s remarks come amid growing frustration over Al-Nassr’s failure to capture silverware this season, further intensifying scrutiny on both the squad and the supporters.
