Pierre Antoine Diatta Dorival has caught the attention of senior players with his performances. The 18-year-old midfielder, currently part of Olympique Lyonnais’ youth setup, has impressed during training sessions.
Among those taking notice is Moussa Niakhaté, who expressed admiration for his young compatriot’s ability.
“For our first technical drill, I insisted that he come with me. If he’s here, it’s because he deserves it.
We had a great session. He was a little shy at first, but then he let loose,” Niakhaté said.
Diatta Dorival, primarily a defensive midfielder but capable of playing in multiple roles, has drawn comparisons to Real Madrid’s Edouardo Camavinga.
His versatility and playing style have led Niakhaté to liken him to the French international.
“Everyone calls him ‘Camavinga’ because of his look and his long strides. I’m really happy for him, and I know that soon, he will be with us regularly and become part of the squad.
Before long, we will have our own Senegalese Camavinga,” Niakhaté added.
