Senegal’s national football team player and Newcastle striker, Papis Demba Cissé, has revealed plans to invest in a football training center. The project, valued at 6 billion FCFA, is set to be established in Sédhiou, the player’s hometown located 500 km south of Dakar. Cissé emphasized that the initiative was inspired by the success of the Diambars Institute in Saly, which was financed by footballers, including Patrick Vieira, and has produced notable players. The Senegalese striker aims to contribute to the development of Sédhiou through football and hopes to emulate the achievements of Diambars in promoting young talent. Additionally, Cissé announced the creation of the “Dreams” Foundation, a social initiative focused on supporting health posts, providing ambulances and equipment, and renovating mosques in Sédhiou.
