Senegal international Idrissa Gana Gueye is close to renewing his contract with Premier League outfit Everton.
Gueye rejoined Everton in 2022 on two-year deal following his spell in the France with Paris Saint Germain. However, the Toffees triggered the extension option to retain the midfielder for a further year.
This season, the 35-year-old midfielder contributed immensely for Everton, making 40 appearances across competitions and delivering three assists.
With his contract expiring in June, the club has decided to tie down the midfielder heading into the new campaign. Gueye is closing in on an agreement to continue with the Premier League club after being offered contract extension.
According to reports, agreement is in the final stages between Gueye and Everton, with talks progressing amicably between both parties
The former PSG midfielder was a target for promoted Ligue 1 side Paris FC, who would have liked to sign Gueye as a free agent, given his Everton contract expires next month.
