The Executive Committee of the Senegalese Football Federation (FSF) will convene on Friday, March 7, to address several pressing issues, including preparations for the Lions’ upcoming 2026 World Cup qualifying matches.
Senegal is set to face Sudan away on March 22 before hosting Togo three days later, with discussions expected to focus on logistics and organisation for both fixtures.
The committee will also deliberate on the forthcoming U-17 Africa Cup of Nations, which is scheduled to take place in Morocco, as well as various national competitions.
Updates on the renovation of the Demba Diop Stadium and the headquarters of the regional leagues will be presented during the meeting.
The stadium, which has been closed since 2017 following tragic incidents during the Coupe de la Ligue final, is currently undergoing refurbishment. Its capacity is set to increase from 14,500 to 20,000 seats, with completion anticipated by June.
Former FIFA Secretary General Fatma Samoura and Paul Dionne, Secretary General of the Ministry of Sports, are among the notable figures expected to attend the meeting, according to Les Echos.
The gathering underscores the FSF’s commitment to strengthening the country’s football infrastructure and ensuring the national teams’ continued progress on the international stage.
