Senegal’s national team has entered the final stage of preparations for their 2026 World Cup qualifier against Sudan, scheduled for March 22, 2025.
With just days to go before the crucial fixture, the squad underwent an intensive training session on Wednesday at the annex field of the Abdoulaye Wade Stadium under the supervision of coach Pape Thiaw.
Unlike the initial training sessions, which were open to the media, Wednesday’s practice was held behind closed doors, allowing the coaching staff to refine tactical strategies.
All 26 players took part in the session, which focused on defensive structure, passing accuracy, and finishing drills.
According to reports, the players displayed high levels of intensity and commitment during a final practice match, signaling their readiness for the upcoming challenge.
Senegal will hold one last training session on Thursday morning before departing for Benghazi, Libya, where the match against Sudan will be played.
The trip marks the beginning of the decisive phase of their qualification campaign, with the Lions determined to secure a crucial victory.
