Senegal’s One Championship heavyweight world champion, Oumar Kane, famously known as “Reug Reug,” received a rapturous ovation at the Abdoulaye Wade Stadium in Diamniadio during Senegal’s match against Burundi.

Reug Reug, who was a guest of honor invited by the Senegalese Football Federation, proudly showcased his recently won championship belt to a packed crowd.

The gesture was met with thunderous applause as the audience celebrated his remarkable achievement.

The MMA star captured the One Championship heavyweight title just days earlier, defeating Anatoly Malykhin in a thrilling bout in Bangkok.

Reug Reug’s victory marked a significant milestone, as he became a global ambassador for Senegalese combat sports on the international stage.

During the celebratory event, Reug Reug presented his championship belt to key figures in Senegalese sports.

Among those honored were members of the national football team, Sports Minister Khady Diène Gaye, and the president of the Senegalese Football Federation.

His victory serves as a testament to the country’s growing presence in combat sports, complementing its established footballing legacy.

The Abdoulaye Wade Stadium, a venue known for hosting significant football matches, became the stage for a broader celebration of Senegalese talent.

The presence of Reug Reug brought a unique sense of pride and unity to the evening, with fans embracing the moment as a collective victory for the nation.

As the applause faded, the sentiment remained clear—Senegal’s athletes continue to make their mark on the world stage, and Reug Reug’s triumph is a shining example of what dedication and resilience can achieve.
