Scottish Premiership side Aberdeen FC have officially secured the services of German-born defender of Ghanaian descent, Emmanuel Gyamfi.
The club confirmed the acquisition on Friday, June 6, via a statement published on their official website.
Gyamfi, a versatile left-back, joins the Scottish side on a four-year deal from Bundesliga 2 outfit FC Schalke 04. The transfer remains subject to international clearance and visa approval.
“Highly rated German youth international Emmanuel Gyamfi has signed for the Dons. The 20-year-old arrives at Pittodrie after progressing through the esteemed FC Schalke 04 academy, where he was widely regarded as one of their brightest prospects,” the club’s statement read.
Speaking after sealing his move, Gyamfi expressed excitement about the new chapter in his career and assured fans of his commitment to the team.
“I’m really happy to be here and so are my family, so I am ready to go,” he said. “Now that everything is sorted, I can focus on pre-season, and I am going to work hard before training starts.
“I will give my best to help the team. I want to show the fans what I can do as this is a good club, and we all want to achieve even more than last season,” he added.
