German side Schalke 04 have recalled Cameroonian defender Steve Noode from his loan at SCR Altach.
The club confirmed the decision to recall the youngster through an official statement on Wednesday, June 18.
“Defender Steve Noode has returned early from his loan at SCR Altach. The Cameroonian defender spent six months at the Austrian side, playing three Bundesliga games and 11 matches for their reserves,” Schalke 04 said in their statement.
Youri Mulder, director of professional football at Schalke, further explained, “Steve got his first taste of professional football in Europe while in Austria and picked up some important experience during his six months there. Together with Altach, we sat down and looked at how we could help further Steve’s development with more minutes. We ultimately decided that Steve will return to Gelsenkirchen, and we will look to find a solution for him.”
Steve Noode arrived at Schalke in summer 2024 from A.S. International Football Académie after three years on their books.
The defender’s contract with the Royal Blues runs until 30th June 2029. He must try and fight for a place in the Schalke first team for next season or will be sent out on another loan.
