Sayed Moawad, former Al-Ahly player and Egypt national team member, emphasized his desire to return to the natural atmosphere in football between Al-Ahly and Zamalek, with competition confined solely to the pitch.
In televised statements on “ETC” satellite channel, Moawad expressed, “I hope to see a return to the natural atmosphere in football between Al-Ahly and Zamalek, with competition on the field and good relations off the pitch, as well as in other sports.
Respect and good relationships must prevail among all clubs.”
He added, “Relations between club officials are always good, but some do not want to show that, fearing the fans. Al-Ahly’s visit to Zamalek is a sign of goodwill and respect.
The most important thing is to maintain good and continuous relationships. We hope that the good relationship between the two poles will continue.”
“There is no crisis between Al-Ahly and Zamalek at all. Each party has the right to seek gains on the field, while maintaining good relations with everyone, and this is normal,” Moawad emphasized.
Regarding the current football environment, he noted, “Players used to play under pressure in the past, but now, when facing a rival in front of 5,000 fans, they feel pressured.
We hope to see larger crowds in the upcoming matches in the Egyptian league.”
Moawad also addressed the role of social media and former players in exacerbating tensions among fans, stating, “With the presence of social media, matters have become more challenging, and some veteran players used to repeat phrases that contributed to inciting the fans.”
