Saudi Arabia’s Al Hilal secured a significant victory against Iran’s Sepahan with a scoreline of 3-1 in the first leg of the AFC Champions League Round of 16.
The Iranian side, Sepahan, took the lead through their player Ramin Rezaian in the 37th minute.
However, Al Hilal’s Brazilian forward, Malcom, equalized for the visitors in the 57th minute, setting the stage for a compelling second half.
The Serbian striker, Aleksandar Mitrović, then propelled Al Hilal into the lead with a goal in the 94th minute, adding to the drama.
Finally, Al Hilal’s Al Hamdan sealed the victory with a third goal in the 97th minute, securing an impressive win away from home.
The match witnessed the participation of Moroccan international goalkeeper, Yassine Bounou, in the starting lineup for Al Hilal.
