En-Nesyri back with a bang in Saudi Pro League

Youssef En-Nesyri delivered a confident response to his critics, scoring twice for Al-Ittihad during a thrilling 4-3 defeat to Neom FC in the Saudi Pro League at Prince Abdullah Al-Faisal Sports City Stadium in Jeddah.

The Moroccan striker opened the scoring in the 38th minute, expertly converting a one-on-one chance against the Neom goalkeeper to reduce the deficit.

He then found the net again, levelling the score with a second clinical finish from inside the penalty area, marking his first brace for Al-Ittihad since joining from Fenerbahce during the winter transfer window.

Despite the loss, En-Nesyri’s performance sent a clear message to his critics, particularly amid scrutiny from the Saudi Football Federation over his inconsistent form in a season where Al-Ittihad’s overall performance has struggled.

Looking ahead, the Moroccan forward will focus on continental competition as Al-Ittihad prepare for the AFC Champions League qualifiers, facing Al-Wahda FC next Tuesday in the round of 16.

With the World Cup approaching, En-Nesyri’s display demonstrates his determination to regain form and confidence, signalling that he is ready to answer both his critics and expectations on the biggest stages.
