Belgium international of Senegalese descent Amadou Onana has emerged as a transfer target for Saudi Pro League giants Al Hilal.
Onana, who is under contract at Aston Villa 2029 is major transfer for Al Hilal, who are seeking to bolster their squad for the impending FIFA Club World Cup and upcoming season at large.
Having made enquiry about Onana’s situation at the club, Al Hilal are expected to make official bid to snap up the 23-year-old midfielder. The Saudi giants see Onana as a huge option for the new campaign and will push for his acquisition this summer.
Aston Villa have not yet received a formal offer from Al-Hilal, who only arrived at the club from Everton last summer. At just 23-year, the midfielder has had spells with Hamburger SV, Lille and Everton.
However, a move to the Middle East this summer window would be his fifth spell in his football career. Onana has reportedly not ruled out a move to the Middle East, although talks have not progressed beyond the early stages.
The midfielder delivered an outstanding performance in the recently concluded campaign, scoring five goals in 34 appearances.
