San Diego bring in Cameroon midfielder David Mimbang from Nordsjaelland

Cameroon midfielder David Mimbang has joined San Diego FC from Nordsjaelland on loan, completing a move from Denmark’s Superliga to Major League Soccer.

The 18-year-old central midfielder moved to the MLS club on 2 September 2026, with the loan running until 30 June 2027. He remains contracted to Nordsjaelland beyond the temporary switch, with the agreement including his return to the Danish club at the end of the loan period.

Mimbang arrives in San Diego just one day after joining Nordsjaelland from Cameroonian club Brasseries. His move to the Danish side was completed on 1 September, before he made the immediate transition to the United States.

The teenager began his recorded club career with Brasseries in July 2019 and spent more than seven years with the club before moving to Europe. His successive transfers have taken place at the start of the 2026-27 season, first to Nordsjaelland and then to San Diego.

Mimbang is listed as a central midfielder and prefers his right foot. He stands at 1.75m and will now continue his career in MLS after leaving the Danish football system on a temporary basis.

San Diego FC, whose first-team club operates in Major League Soccer, will have Mimbang available during the loan period, while Nordsjaelland retains his registration beyond 30 June 2027. The move gives the Cameroon-born player a spell in a second senior football environment within a matter of days.

No transfer fee has been disclosed for the loan, which is recorded as a temporary move rather than a permanent transfer. Mimbang’s arrival is San Diego’s completed addition of a young central midfielder from Nordsjaelland for the 2026-27 campaign.

The loan transfer was completed on 2 September 2026, with David Mimbang joining San Diego from Nordsjaelland until 30 June 2027.
