The match went into overtime, and it wasn’t until the 99th minute that Eto’o, the captain of Anzhi, converted a penalty to secure a crucial win. In Eto’o’s absence, Anzhi had earlier achieved a convincing 3-0 victory over Volga, with Ivorian striker Lacina Traoré finding the net.
