Sampdoria eye Juve Next Gen midfielder Augusto Owusu in Serie B move
Italian-Ghanaian central midfielder Augusto Owusu of Juve Next Gen is being linked with a summer switch to Serie B side Sampdoria.
The 21-year-old, who represents Juventus second team in Serie C Girone A, is listed with a market value of 600,000, and Italian media reports describe the deal as a rumour at this stage, with the reported probability of a move remaining unclear (marked simply as ?). With no public end date on his current contract, the possibility of Owusu running down his deal and moving later as a free agent has also been noted in speculation.
Born in Torino on 28 January 2005 and standing at 1.89m, Owusu is a right-footed central midfielder who holds both Italian and Ghanaian nationality. He wears the No 8 shirt for Juve Next Gen and has progressed through the Juventus system since 2012, featuring for Juventus Youth, the Under-17s and Juventus Primavera before stepping up to the Next Gen squad on 1 July 2024.
Owusus development has included a loan spell at Reggiana Primavera in the 2022-23 season, after which he returned to Juventus Primavera in June 2023. He has since been integrated into Juventus professional pathway, appearing in Serie C for the clubs second team, which is officially registered as Juventus Next Gen.
His market value has fluctuated in recent seasons, rising from 50,000 at Juventus Primavera in June 2024 to 800,000 at Juve Next Gen by December 2024, before stabilising at 700,000 through 2025 and easing to 600,000 in the latest update on 19 June 2026. That valuation is expected to form a reference point for any negotiations should Sampdoria decide to formalise their interest.
If the move materialises, a step up to Sampdoria in Serie B would place Owusu in a more competitive senior environment and provide a significant test of his potential at professional level.
