Franck Ribéry expressed his disappointment as his friends Eric Abidal and Samir Nasri will not be part of the upcoming football World Cup. Ribéry believes both players deserved a spot in the squad.
Speaking on RTL, Ribéry said, “I’m saddened because I share a special bond with them. Eric, I’m particularly disappointed for because he featured in all the qualifying matches, although he faced challenges with Monaco later on. As for Samir, it’s disappointing too, considering his impressive season with Manchester City. But I’m not the coach.”
José Anigo also voiced his confusion regarding the decision.
