Sami Ouaissa: NEC Nijmegen right midfielder linked with PSV move in Netherlands transfer rumours

PSV are being linked with a move for NEC Nijmegen right midfielder Sami Ouaissa in a deal that could hinge on his contract situation and rising market value of €2.50m.

The 21-year-old, who holds both Dutch and Moroccan nationality, has emerged as one of the Eredivisie’s more intriguing young wide players after a rapid rise from the second tier with Roda JC Kerkrade. Data from Transfermarkt lists the probability of a move as “?”, underlining that talks are at a speculative stage, with no clarity yet on the length of his current NEC deal or whether he could move later as a free agent if a contract expired without renewal.

Ouaissa joined NEC from Roda JC in January 2024, initially switching permanently before immediately returning on loan to the Kerkrade club until the end of the 2023‑24 campaign. He had previously progressed through every youth level at Roda, from the U17s and U18s to the U21s and then the first team, all in Dutch football.

His value has climbed sharply in recent seasons, rising from €50,000 in October 2022 at Roda JC to €700,000 by June 2024, and then accelerating further at NEC to reach €2.50m by December 2025. That upward curve is likely to inform any fee negotiations should PSV decide to formalise their interest.

The left-footed right midfielder, born in Hoensbroek on 2 October 2004 and standing at 1.86m, has built his reputation in the Eredivisie with NEC after leaving the Eerste Divisie behind. Recent domestic appearances, including a league outing for NEC earlier this year in which he featured on the right flank in a narrow victory over fellow Eredivisie opposition, have strengthened the perception that he is ready for a step up.

With PSV regularly tracking emerging talent from within the Dutch league, a move to Eindhoven would represent a significant next step in Ouaissa’s career and could prove decisive in shaping his long‑term trajectory at the top level if the interest develops into a concrete offer.
