Wydad Sporting Club have stepped up their preparations for the Club World Cup by targeting Zamalek defender Salah Moussadak in a bold summer move.
The Moroccan powerhouse submitted an official offer to sign the 23-year-old, who only joined Zamalek earlier this year from Nahdet El Zamamra. Moussadak has quickly become a steady presence at the back, attracting interest from several clubs, but it is Wydad who have made the first move.
A Zamalek source confirmed the development, saying: “Salah Moussadak is a good player, and in general, the board of directors made a decision to discuss any offer for any player in Zamalek, provided that it suits the club and the player with a good financial return.”
“Wydad of Morocco want to sign Salah Moussadak, we will study the offer and the financial compensation, and whether the team needs the player’s services or not, in discussion with the planning committee,” the source added.
Wydad will face Manchester City, Juventus, and Al Ain in Group G at the Club World Cup in March.
