Romain Ghanem Saiss, the captain of the Moroccan national football team, expressed that tomorrow’s match against Tanzania will be quite different from the one played a month and a half ago as part of the 2026 World Cup qualifiers.
Addressing the press conference preceding the first match in the “CAN Côte d’Ivoire 2023” against Tanzania, the “Atlas Lions” defender stated, “It is important for us to start the Africa Cup of Nations with a victory against Tanzania.”
Saiss emphasized that the historical path traced by the Moroccan national team in the World Cup has brought attention to them.
He added, “We have players of high quality.
We need to adapt to African competition to deliver a good performance.”
He continued, “I am participating in my fourth Africa Cup of Nations in my history, and I have experience in this competition.
AFCON differs significantly from European football; in Africa, partnerships in play are crucial, and the weather also plays a role.
You need to be physically and mentally prepared, and it is certain that we will face difficulties.”
Saiss pointed out that all the players are ready to give their best and be on point.
He said, “I am in good health, and playing against Tanzania is in the hands of coach Walid Regragui.”
It is worth noting that the Morocco vs. Tanzania match will kick off tomorrow at 6:00 PM on the pitch of the Laurent Pokou Stadium in San Pedro, Côte d’Ivoire.
