Saint-Etienne explore move for Genk’s Cameroon striker Aaron Bibout

Cameroon striker Aaron Bibout is being linked with a move from Genk to Saint-Etienne, with the French club reportedly considering a deal for the 21-year-old.

Bibout has made four appearances in the Jupiler Pro League this season and scored twice, despite not starting any of those matches. He has played 89 minutes, contributing a goal every 45 minutes.

The forward joined Genk from Swedish club Vasteras SK in July 2025 in a €2.2m transfer. He signed a contract running until 30 June 2029, leaving the Belgian club in a strong contractual position should interest develop into a formal approach.

Saint-Etienne currently play in Ligue 2, while Genk compete in Belgium’s top flight. Bibout’s current market value is listed at €3.5m.

Born in Yaounde, Bibout is 1.93m tall and operates as a centre-forward. Before moving to Europe, he spent time in the United States with LA Galaxy-linked sides, Tulsa, Detroit City and Ventura County, having begun his senior career with Cameroon-based Kadji SA.

The reported link comes as Bibout has made an efficient start to the 2026-27 Belgian league campaign, but there is no indication that a transfer has been agreed. For now, he remains a Genk player under contract through June 2029.
