Sahmkou Camara makes Slovan Bratislava switch in loan move from Slavia Prague

Guinean-French centre-back Sahmkou Camara has joined Slovan Bratislava from Slavia Prague on loan, completing a move to the Slovak club until 30 June 2027.

The 23-year-old defender switches from the Czech side to Slovan, who compete in the Nike Liga. Camara’s move was completed on 2 September, with the loan scheduled to end at the conclusion of the 2026-27 season.

Camara is contracted to Slavia Prague until 30 June 2027. He has a market value of €1.2m and arrives at Slovan after returning to the Prague club from a previous loan spell with Karvina.

The Paris-born defender spent the second half of the 2024-25 season at Karvina before remaining with the club for the following campaign. He helped Karvina win the Czech Cup in 2025-26, recording the first major honour listed in his senior career.

Camara returned to Slavia Prague on 30 June 2026, but made the move across the border before appearing for the club in the 2026-27 campaign. He had not featured in the Chance Liga after the opening six possible matches of the season.

Standing at 1.93m, Camara is a right-footed centre-back. His arrival gives Slovan a defender with experience of Czech football, having played for both Slavia Prague and Karvina since moving to the former in January 2025.

Camara joined Slavia from Stade Lavallois in a €700,000 transfer in January 2025, before immediately moving to Karvina on loan. He had previously played for Pays de Grasse and began his senior football with RC Grasse after coming through Cavigal’s under-19 team.

His international nationality is listed as Guinea and France. Camara will now continue his career in Slovakia, with his temporary move to Slovan Bratislava running until the end of June 2027.
