Senegalese forward Sadio Mané has been fined by the Saudi Football Federation for failing to participate in a mandatory post-match interview following Al-Nassr’s recent fixture against Al-Wehda.
The 31-year-old, who plays for the Riyadh-based club, was handed a financial penalty of 20,000 Saudi riyals (approximately 3.3 million CFA francs) by the Disciplinary and Ethics Committee of the Saudi Football Federation.
According to the Federation’s official statement, Mané’s punishment was issued due to his non-compliance with Article 63-2 of the disciplinary regulations, which obliges players to present themselves in the mixed zone for media duties after matches.
The committee also confirmed that the decision is final and cannot be appealed, citing Article 144 of the regulations.
Mané is not the only Al-Nassr player to receive such a sanction. His teammate Mohammed Al-Fatil was similarly fined for skipping media obligations following the club’s 3-2 defeat to Al-Ettifaq on matchday 21 of the Saudi Pro League.
Despite the off-field setback, Mané remains a key figure in Al-Nassr’s campaign as they continue their pursuit of domestic and continental success.
The former Liverpool star joined the Saudi side in 2023, adding significant firepower to the squad alongside Portuguese forward Cristiano Ronaldo.
