French-born Cameroonian full-back Sacha Boey has made his intentions clear: he wants to solidify his future at Bayern Munich, despite interest from Olympique Marseille.
According to reports from Foot Mercato, the 24-year-old right-back remains committed to carving out a key role in the Bavarian giants’ setup, effectively cooling speculation about a potential January move.
Marseille, in their bid to shore up defensive options, have identified Boey as a target, with L’Équipe suggesting a loan deal as a possible route. The Ligue 1 side reportedly made an initial enquiry, and their sporting director Medhi Benatia’s connections with Bayern—stemming from his playing days in Germany could play a pivotal role in advancing talks.
Yet, Boey’s determination to stay may render these efforts futile. Bayern are equally keen to hold onto the promising defender, viewing him as a long-term asset. While a short-term loan could have been mutually beneficial, Boey’s resolve to thrive under Thomas Tuchel’s management has put the ball firmly in Bayern’s court.
For now, Olympique Marseille’s pursuit of Boey appears more wishful than practical.
