Evian coach Pascal Dupraz has expressed frustration towards Tunisian international Saber Khelifa for being slow to join the club’s training sessions while his future remains uncertain. The Savoyard club, ETG, reportedly set a release clause of 6 million euros for Khelifa, who is being pursued by Olympique de Marseille.
Former Evian coach Bernard Casoni, who brought the Tunisian striker to Ligue 1, believes that Khelifa joining Marseille would be a significant move. Casoni praised Khelifa for his humility and ability to make an immediate impact with his skillful and daring style of play. According to comments relayed by lephocéen.fr, Casoni stated, “He is someone who came with a lot of humility and who knew how to immediately establish himself with his taste for provocation with the ball and first intention play. He likes depth, he goes quickly and he dares to do things too.”
Casoni dismisses concerns about Khelifa adapting to the Marseille jersey, citing his experience playing in front of large crowds in Tunisia and his successful stint with Evian. “In Tunisia, he played in front of 50,000 people, he knows what the craze is. And then in Evian, he still won quickly even though there was a question mark. His progression spans two years; he’s not just a player who was on fire for a few weeks. It’s worth a try, it would be a good move for OM,” he concludes.
