Ryan Fosso commits international future to Cameroon
Midfielder Ryan Fosso has decided to represent Cameroon at international level, officially choosing to play for the Indomitable Lions after previously appearing for Switzerland in youth competitions.
The defensive midfielder has completed a change of sporting nationality, allowing him to wear the colours of Cameroon, the country of his origins.
Fosso, whose full name is Donfack Ryan Gloire Fosso Ymefack, developed his football career in Switzerland and was previously involved with Swiss youth national teams.
Despite that early international experience, the player has now opted to pursue his senior international career with Cameroon.
The decision marks a new step for the midfielder as he looks to establish himself within the national team setup and contribute to the squad in the years ahead.
At club level, Fosso has experienced a season that has taken him across two European leagues.
He began the campaign playing in the Netherlands with AS Fortuna. The midfielder represented the Dutch club during the first part of the season before departing during the winter transfer window.
Following that move, Fosso joined Austrian side SK Sturm Graz in January. The club competes in the Austrian Bundesliga and offered the midfielder a new opportunity to continue his development in a different league.
Since arriving in Austria, Fosso has already begun to feature for his new team. The midfielder has made five appearances in the Austrian Bundesliga, gaining experience at senior level while adapting to his new environment.
His decision to represent Cameroon internationally now adds another important dimension to his career.
By committing to the Indomitable Lions, Fosso opens a new chapter that could see him become part of the country’s national team plans in the coming years.
The move also reflects his choice to represent the nation of his roots, as he aims to secure a place in the Cameroonian midfield and play a role in the team’s future campaigns.
