The Rwandan Patriotic Army (APR) clinched the national football championship, securing their 14th title in Rwanda and their 11th since the year 2000.
In a tightly contested season, APR managed to edge past their main rival, Rayon Sports, to claim the championship by just two points.
Despite being slightly overshadowed by Rayon Sports in terms of popularity, APR consistently draws an average of 15,000 spectators to their matches at the Amahoro Stadium in Kigali. Moreover, the club holds a significant financial advantage, being regarded as the wealthiest in the country, although the specifics of its budget remain undisclosed.
Elias Ntaganda holds the club record for the most matches played, having featured in over a hundred games between 1998 and 2010. Meanwhile, the record for the most goals scored in all competitions is still held by another APR international, Jimmy Gatete, with 36 goals to his name.
