Raja Casablanca in Talks with Former Esperance Tunis Coach Ruud Krol
Moroccan giants Raja Casablanca are reportedly in negotiations with Dutch coach Ruud Krol, who was dismissed from his position as head coach of Esperance de Tunis last month. Krol, a well-known figure in African football, is now being considered to take charge at the Casablanca-based club as they seek an experienced manager to lead their campaign.
Krol’s name has also been linked with Egyptian powerhouse Al Ahly, but it appears Raja Casablanca are pushing hard to secure his services. The Rajaoui management has made clear their intention to appoint a highly regarded coach, and Krol’s availability fits their requirements.
Meanwhile, rivals Wydad Athletic Club (WAC) are also weighing options for their head coach position. The Dutchman’s agent has recently submitted his CV to WAC officials, who are reportedly interested in Krol as a candidate. This comes as their preferred choice, Philippe Troussier, is yet to respond definitively to their approach, causing the club to consider alternative options.
Ruud Krol’s extensive coaching résumé, which includes managing several African national teams and clubs, makes him a strong contender in the region. His experience with Esperance de Tunis, despite ending abruptly, adds to his credentials in North African football.
As Raja Casablanca and Wydad Casablanca both look to strengthen their squads and coaching staff for the upcoming season, the final decision on Krol’s next destination will be closely watched by football fans across Morocco and beyond.
