Former MC Alger coach Rulani Mokwena is poised to receive a league winner’s medal in Algeria should MC Alger clinch the title this season, in recognition of the foundation he laid before his departure from the club.

Although no longer in charge, Mokwena’s early-season work is understood to have contributed significantly to MC Alger’s current title push, placing him in line for an unexpected honour if the club completes the campaign successfully.

The South African tactician has since embarked on a new chapter with Libyan powerhouse Al-Ittihad, where he has already begun shaping an ambitious long-term project.

At Al-Ittihad, Mokwena is reported to be steering the team toward a potentially historic season, with the club competing strongly for the domestic league title while also targeting cup success and preparing for a sustained run in next season’s CAF Champions League.

Club officials are also expected to back him in the transfer market, with plans to strengthen the squad significantly to match their continental ambitions.

Mokwena’s growing influence across North African football continues to underline his rising reputation as one of the continent’s most closely watched coaching figures, with his impact already being felt at multiple clubs in quick succession.
