Wydad Casablanca head coach Rulani Mokwena has refused to resign despite exiting the Moroccan Throne Cup.
Wydad were bundled out after losing 1-0 against Moghreb Tetouan on Saturday at the Saniat Rmel Stadium.
Following the defeat, there have been growing calls for the South African gaffer to vacate his role after finishing the season without a trophy.
A report in the Moroccan media suggests that club president Hisham Ait Mena is also in serious trouble after he was also surrounded and demands were made for his departure following his departure from the Mohammedia club, and the “Wydad Parliament” embraced him and elected him president.
The report adds that Hisham informed Mokwena of the demands of the supporters, club members and even the majority of the board of directors, but the South African refused to leave and submit his resignation and insists on remaining in his position, stressing that he holds the players who let him down in the match against Tétouan responsible.
Before the start of the season, Mokwena pledged that he would leave at the end of the season without compensation if he failed to qualify the team for the CAF Champions League.
