RS Berkane targeting defensive reinforcement with move for Achraf Dari
is making a strong push to bring Achraf Dari back to Moroccan football, as they look to rebuild their defense ahead of the new season.
The reigning Botola champions and Confederation Cup holders are serious about landing the experienced centre-back, who currently plays for Egyptian giants Al Ahly.
Sources close to the club confirmed that acted swiftly after learning Al Ahly is open to parting ways with Dari during the current transfer window.
The club sees Dari as a key figure who could anchor their backline and help maintain their dominance domestically. His experience with Wydad Casablanca makes him an ideal replacement for long-serving captain Youssoufou Dayo, who ended a decade-long spell with the club.
Still, the move hinges on Dari’s own plans, as he reportedly isn’t keen on returning to Morocco right now.
In the meantime, the Berkane management is stepping up its hunt for new defenders to fill gaps left by the recent departure of Adel Tahaif, who joined Qatari side Umm Salal.
