The Royal Moroccan Football Federation has officially expressed its confidence in Walid Regragui to continue leading the national team as head coach.

Fawzi Lakjaa, President of the Federation, acknowledged the evaluation of the team’s performance in the 2023 Africa Cup of Nations, emphasizing the need to address shortcomings identified, particularly in the round of 16 against South Africa.

Lakjaa stressed the importance of ongoing efforts to elevate the national team’s status, aiming to bring joy to Moroccan fans in upcoming competitions, including the 2026 World Cup qualifiers and the African Cup of Nations, which Morocco will host in the summer of the following year.

The statement highlighted the Federation’s commitment to supporting Regragui in the next stage, providing all necessary means for success.

Gratitude was extended to loyal Moroccan fans, both domestic and abroad, for their patriotic spirit and sacrifices, especially those who travelled to Côte d’Ivoire.

The Federation called on fans to further support the national team in facing the challenges of the upcoming 2025 African Cup.

In conclusion, the announcement reflected the Federation’s dedication to realizing the aspirations of Moroccan football under the high patronage of His Majesty King Mohammed.
