Ronaldo celebrates Al Nassr landmark while crediting team-mates and supporters

Cristiano Ronaldo says his record-breaking achievement with Al Nassr belongs to the whole club after he became the Saudi Pro League’s leading scorer, surpassing former record-holder Mohammed Al-Sahlawi.

The Portugal captain scored in Al Nassr’s victory over Al Taawoun to take his total in the professional league to 104 goals. That moved him beyond Al-Sahlawi’s previous mark of 103, which Ronaldo reached in fewer matches.

Speaking to Saudi network Thmanyah after the match, Ronaldo played down the personal significance of the record and highlighted the contribution of those around him.

“I am very happy, it is a great achievement, but it is not only for Cristiano. I have to thank my team-mates, because without them it would have been impossible to achieve this,” he said.

Ronaldo also reserved praise for Al Nassr’s supporters, saying their backing had been central to his time in the Roshn Saudi League since his arrival.

“I am also happy for the fans, because they support me all the time, and I am very proud of this support. Thank you,” he added.

The latest goal extended Ronaldo’s remarkable scoring record since joining Al Nassr and underlined his continued influence in the Saudi top flight. He has remained a central figure in the club’s plans, regularly finding the net and helping the team collect important victories.

Al Nassr are also looking to challenge for honours this season after a perfect start, with the club taking maximum points from their opening four league fixtures.

Ronaldo’s comments suggested he viewed the milestone as the product of a collective effort rather than an individual accomplishment. Instead of focusing solely on surpassing Al-Sahlawi, he directed attention towards the team-mates who created the conditions for his goals and the supporters who have backed him throughout his spell in Saudi Arabia.

The record adds another milestone to a career that has continued to produce notable achievements following his move to Al Nassr. His latest strike against Al Taawoun ensured that he not only helped secure another win, but also established a new benchmark for goals scored by a player in the club’s Saudi Pro League history.

For Al Nassr, the achievement comes at the beginning of a campaign in which Ronaldo remains expected to lead the attack and help drive the side’s pursuit of trophies. For the captain himself, however, the record was presented as a shared success involving the players and fans who have supported his journey with the club.
