Romeo Lavia reaffirms full belief in Chelsea project

Romeo Lavia insists he is still fully invested in Chelsea’s long-term project despite a turbulent season at Stamford Bridge.

The midfielder says belief within the dressing room remains strong and makes it clear he would only consider leaving if that conviction ever disappeared.

“Yes, of course. The day I lose belief, I will probably be the first one to leave this place. If you want to succeed, you have to be 100 per cent into it,” Lavia said, explaining that there is never a moment at the training ground when players look like they have given up. “I 100 per cent believe that we will turn it around.”

He also downplayed suggestions that the recent 1-1 draw at Liverpool suddenly changed Chelsea’s mindset.

“I don’t think the Liverpool game is the one that makes us realise how good we are. We know this,” he continued, accepting that the team have “quite often” been their “own enemy” this season but stressing they are “very good” collectively when things click.

Lavia’s message is one of patience, responsibility and confidence that Chelsea’s project will eventually deliver the success the club demands.
