Roma linked with Como winger Assane Diao after 10-goal Serie A campaign

Assane Diao, the Senegalese-Spanish winger currently at Como, has been linked with a move to fellow Serie A club Roma.

The 20-year-old joined Como from Real Betis in January 2025 for €12m and has since established himself as a regular attacking option for the club. Diao made 32 Serie A appearances, scoring 10 goals and providing two assists.

His performances have contributed to a rise in his market value to €30m, although there is no indication that Como have set a formal asking price or that negotiations with Roma have begun.

Diao operates primarily on the left wing and is naturally right-footed. He remains under contract with Como until 30 June 2029, meaning the Italian club are under no immediate pressure to sell.

The player has represented both Senegal and Spain at international level and was part of Spain’s European Under-19 Championship-winning side in 2024. He also appeared once at the 2026 World Cup, recording 2% of the available minutes.

Roma and Como are both competing in Serie A, adding domestic context to the reported interest, but the proposed transfer remains at the rumour stage. Diao’s current deal and €30m valuation provide the clearest indication of Como’s position as the winger continues his career in Italy.
