Rolland Courbis, the coach of USM Alger, did not travel with his team to Gabon for the CAF Cup match against US Bitam due to illness. He is reportedly suffering from an allergy to anti-malaria medication. Courbis had also missed a previous match this season for similar reasons. His assistant is expected to coach the team in his absence. The first leg between the two teams ended in a 0-0 draw.
