Algerian striker Riadh Ben Ayed has secured a six-month loan deal with Raja Casablanca after parting ways with Espérance Sportive de Tunis (EST). The Sang et Or club officially announced the loan agreement through one of its communication platforms.
The transfer marks a significant development in Ben Ayed’s career, especially considering his recent absence from competitive football.
Sidelined due to cruciate ligament injuries sustained in April 2023 during a match against Étoile Sportive de Sahel, the talented striker has been on the road to recovery.
Joining Raja Casablanca for the next six months offers him a fresh start and an opportunity to regain his form.
The decision for the loan move was a strategic one for both parties involved. Riadh Ben Ayed’s stay at EST had become financially burdensome for the Bab Souika team.
Having arrived at the Tunisian club in July 2022 from Entente Sportive de Sétif in Algeria, Ben Ayed initially signed a three-year contract.
However, his tenure took an unexpected turn with the injury setback in April 2023, sidelining him from official matches until now.
The regulations of the Tunisian Football Federation played a pivotal role in this transition.
With the foreign player regulation stipulating that after four months of injury-related absence, the club can replace the player’s license with that of another, EST leveraged this opportunity to withdraw Ben Ayed’s license and seek a suitable replacement.
Facing a situation where Riadh Ben Ayed found himself without a clear role in Tunisia, the loan opportunity to Raja Casablanca emerged as a welcomed prospect for the player.
This strategic move not only provides him with a platform to reignite his career but also contributes to the reshaping of the squad dynamics at Raja Casablanca.
