Renowned Tunisian journalist condemns Moroccan coach Walid El-Rakraki for his controversial statements

Moroccan coach Walid El-Rakraki is facing a challenging period following Morocco’s humiliating exit from the ongoing Africa Cup of Nations in Ivory Coast, particularly after their defeat to South Africa in the quarterfinals.

While Moroccan fans and Moroccan media criticized El-Rakraki for his decisions during the championship, especially in the last match against South Africa.

A well-known Tunisian journalist did not focus on tactical failures or the inclusion of the returning Mazraoui who had recently recovered from an injury.

Instead, he addressed the controversial remarks made by the Moroccan coach before the crucial encounter.

Tunisian media personality Samir Al-Wafi launched a scathing attack on the Moroccan coach due to statements he made prior to the South Africa match in the round of 16 of the Africa Cup of Nations.

El-Rakraki had stated that he does not represent the Arabs and is only a representative of Morocco.

In response to these comments, Al-Wafi directed strong words towards the Moroccan coach, saying, “Oh El-Rakraki, the Arabs pity you, and they thank God that you do not represent them.

Regardless of your denial of your identity, some remnants of Arabness still linger within you – the remnants of failure.”

The Tunisian journalist continued his message to El-Rakraki: “A failure like the Arabs who preceded you, and this is the punishment for arrogance.

We will not mourn much for your humiliating defeat because the one who humiliated and defeated you was more Arab, honorable, and courageous than you in supporting Palestine.

Oh failure, oh failure,” referring to South Africa’s stance on the Gaza conflict and their legal action against the Zionist entity before the International Court of Justice, accusing it of seeking to annihilate the Palestinian people.
