Talks between Olympique de Marseille and Stade Rennais over the transfer of Amine Gouiri have reached an impasse, with the Breton club standing firm on their valuation of the Algerian international.
Marseille tabled a fresh offer on Thursday in a bid to secure the forward’s services, but Rennes swiftly rejected the proposal.
The Ligue 1 side remains adamant that they will not sanction Gouiri’s departure for less than €26 million.
Gouiri, who has been enticed by the prospect of playing under Roberto De Zerbi at Marseille, is growing increasingly frustrated with the deadlock.
The 23-year-old is eager to complete the move before the winter transfer window closes, but with time running out, negotiations remain at a standstill.
As the transfer deadline approaches, Marseille must decide whether to meet Rennes’ demands or risk missing out on their key attacking target.
