Vinicius Junior, the star player of Real Madrid, appointed by the United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (UNESCO) as an ambassador for the UNESCO Education for All initiative, has recently been spotted in Marrakech, the Moroccan city renowned for attracting global celebrities from various fields.
Amidst his short vacation, Vinicius Junior embarked on a special visit to the ‘Red City.’
During this visit, the Real Madrid player, representing UNESCO, visited a preparatory secondary school in the Gueliz district of Marrakech to engage with the students.
Commenting on the visit, Moulay Ahmed Lekrimi, the regional director of the Ministry of National Education, Early Childhood Education, and Sports in the Marrakech-Safi region, stated: “This charitable initiative was organized in coordination with the Moroccan branch of UNESCO and the municipal council of Marrakech to support education for all.
The choice of this player to engage with students led to his visit to the prestigious preparatory secondary school.”
He further added: “Vinicius Junior was warmly received by the students of the institution, bringing joy and excitement to both the visitors and the hosts.
The students eagerly posed questions to him about his childhood and the secret of his success.”
Lekrimi emphasized that “the Real Madrid player stressed the importance of balancing education, sports, and personal development.
Learning about the Moroccan experience in this regard delighted him even more.”
In conjunction with this visit, a football match was organized in which Vinicius Junior participated alongside the students of the secondary school.
It was highlighted that the Brazilian player, along with his club Real Madrid, enjoys significant popularity in Morocco.
Just weeks ago, another Real Madrid player, Ibrahim Diaz, visited the Jemaa el-Fna square and its surrounding markets.
Marrakech has become a favored destination for celebrities from various fields who are drawn to its allure.
Some choose to invest in tourism projects, as seen with the Portuguese star Cristiano Ronaldo.
These visits by global football stars and celebrities have become an effective means of promoting Marrakech as a premier tourist destination, a fact acknowledged by tourism officials and enthusiasts in Morocco.
