Real Madrid are reportedly prepare to splash an astronomical sum of money to secure the signing of France-born Angola defender Castello Lukeba.

The Spanish giants are in the haunt for a new centre-back as they look to strengthen their defense for next season, with the club identifying Lukeba, who plies his trade for Leipzig as a perfect player to solidify their defense.

The 22-year-old has made 22 appearances for Leipzig across competitions this season and has showcased glimpses of good performances for the club.

Lukeba has been influential for Leipzig this season, courting attention from several top clubs including Real Madrid, who are poised to match a record-breaking transfer.

Real Madrid see Lukeba as a long-term reinforcement for the team and are willing to pay a hefty fee to snatch Lukeba, who has a release clause of 90 million euros.

The 22-year-old surpass Josko Gvardiol’s transfer to Manchester City to become the most expensive defender transfer in history if Real Madrid are able to trigger the release clause.

Lukeba has one appearance for the France national team but is still eligible to play for his native country, Angola.
