Xabi Alonso, the Real Madrid midfielder, has suffered another setback as he broke the fifth metatarsal of his right foot during training. This unfortunate injury will keep him off the field for at least three months. Alonso had recently returned from an operation for pubalgia in June and now faces an extended period of recovery.
