Real Madrid has formalised its plans for promising Moroccan talents Rachad Fettal and Abdellah Ouazane ahead of the 2025–26 season, as both players prepare to begin their respective journeys within the club’s elite youth and reserve structures.
Rachad Fettal, 20, and Abdellah Ouazane, 16, were both signed by the Spanish giants in recent weeks, marking a continued investment in North African talent.
The club has now clarified their immediate assignments within the Madrid system, ensuring tailored developmental paths for the two players.
Fettal, who was signed last week, will link up with Castilla, Real Madrid’s B team.
The decision was confirmed on Wednesday by journalist Rodra, who reports for ESPN and Relevo.
According to the Spanish journalist, Fettal was present at the Valdebebas training facility, where he is expected to begin pre-season with Castilla next week, barring any late changes to the club’s plans.
The Moroccan forward will now aim to make his mark under the watchful eye of Castilla’s coaching staff, hoping to gain the experience and exposure needed to eventually earn a place in the first team setup.
His progression through Real Madrid’s development pipeline is being closely followed by Moroccan football fans, who regard him as one of the country’s top young prospects abroad.
Meanwhile, Abdellah Ouazane, another standout from Morocco’s flourishing youth system, will initially feature for the club’s U19 squad.
The 16-year-old midfielder, whose arrival had been quietly wrapped up nearly a month ago, was officially confirmed as a Real Madrid player last week.
Rodra reported that the Amsterdam-born talent has signed a three-year contract with the club, which runs until 2028.
Although there is no confirmation yet of Ouazane joining Castilla in the immediate future, the club is believed to be monitoring his development closely, and a promotion could be considered depending on his adaptation and form.

Ouazane rose to prominence during the 2023 U17 Africa Cup of Nations, where he was a central figure in Morocco’s title-winning campaign.
He scored two goals and provided three assists during the tournament, earning the MVP award for his consistently outstanding performances.
His technical quality, vision, and maturity have made him one of the most highly regarded players of his age group.
With these assignments, Real Madrid continues to refine its approach to talent development, carefully balancing immediate competitive demands with long-term potential.
For Fettal and Ouazane, the journey in Madrid is just beginning, but both have already taken significant steps onto football’s biggest stage.
