Real Madrid confirm Yan Diomande’s shirt number as Brahim Diaz keeps 21

Real Madrid have confirmed that new signing Yan Diomande will wear the number 25 shirt, while Brahim Diaz will retain his number 21 at the Bernabeu.

The Ivorian international’s shirt number has been settled after his transfer to Real Madrid for a fee of more than £100m. Diomande will therefore join Diaz in the club’s squad structure, where players are organised by shirt number in the Bernabeu dressing room.

Diaz, the Morocco international, remains associated with the number 21. His continued use of the shirt means Diomande becomes the latest arrival to be placed alongside him in the dressing-room order.

The number 25 will now belong to Diomande, giving the forward a confirmed identity within the Real Madrid squad following his expensive move. The club has also maintained its existing allocation of two of its most prominent numbers.
