Real Madrid confident of sealing Yan Diomande deal as Manchester City weigh €100m move

Real Madrid are increasingly confident of completing a deal for RB Leipzig winger Yan Diomande this weekend, despite Manchester City signalling a willingness to bid €100m for the Ivory Coast international.

City have informed Leipzig verbally that they are prepared to put forward a €100m offer for the 19-year-old right-sided attacker, although no formal bid has yet been submitted. Discussions between the clubs and intermediaries have already taken place, according to journalist Philipp Hinze, but the Premier League champions are still to make their interest official.

Liverpool and Real Madrid have both gone further, lodging proposals worth close to €100m. Those approaches have been rejected by Leipzig, who continue to hold out after making clear they value one of their prize assets extremely highly.

Paris Saint-Germain, meanwhile, are monitoring the situation but have not yet moved. The French champions are currently unwilling to match the level of offer put forward by Real Madrid, and have so far stayed on the sidelines of the race.

Spanish outlet reports, relayed by journalist Santi Aouna, indicate the European champions are pushing to finalise the agreement over the weekend. If the remaining details are ironed out as expected, Diomande is anticipated to be officially unveiled as a Real Madrid player next week. No agreement has been publicly confirmed, but optimism in Madrid has grown as negotiations have progressed.

Highly rated teenager under long-term Leipzig deal

Diomande is under contract with RB Leipzig until 30 June 2030, a long-term deal that underpins Leipzig’s strong negotiating position and explains their firm stance in rejecting initial bids close to €100m.

The Ivory Coast international, who operates primarily on the right wing, is regarded as one of the most promising young attackers in European football. At 19, he already commands a significant valuation on the transfer market.

Industry website Transfermarkt currently estimates Diomande’s market value at €90m, reflecting his rapid rise and the intense competition for his services this summer.

In Germany, Diomande is reported to earn an annual salary of €750,000, equivalent to 487,500,000 CFA francs. Any move to a club of Real Madrid’s stature would be expected to come with a substantial pay increase, although financial terms with the player have not been disclosed in the latest reports.
